A 5K Run/Walk to Benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Join the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago and DePaul University for the second annual Friends of the Poor 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 9 a.m.
on a USATF certified course along the beautiful Diversey Harbor at Cannon Drive and Fullerton Avenue in Lincoln Park, Chicago.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Chicago community—providing compassion and support to families and individuals in need in Cook and Lake counties, regardless of race, religion, origin or gender.
Medals and Gift Certificates will be awarded to top runners following the race. First place male and female runners will receive a $50 gift certificate from New Balance Chicago!
Medals for male and female youth (12 and under) and teen (13-19).
If you register by 9/15/13, you may pick up your race packet at New Balance Chicago in Lincoln Park, 2369 N. Clark Street, Chicago from Noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24 or Thursday, September 26. All remaining packets and packets for those registered after 9/15/13 will be available on race day from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the event near Cannon Drive and Fullerton Avenue in Lincoln Park.

THE "BIG SHOE" DRIVE
Please bring a new or gently used pair of shoes to the event and as a token of our appreciation for your generosity, receive a 10% coupon toward your next purchase at New Balance Chicago! Donated shoes will be resold in our thrift stores at a reasonable price or directly donated through our emergency voucher program to someone in dire need. A new or gently used pair of shoes can be a symbol of hope and the source of life to a person in need.

In consideration of my participation in the Friends of the Poor 5K Run/Walk, September 28, 2013, I for myself and anyone entitled to act in my behalf, waive and release all rights and claims for damages I may have against all event organizers, sponsors, officials, or staff of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, for all claims or liabilities of any kind, as a result of my participation in this event.
Further, I grant permission to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to use photographs or any other record of this event without compensation to me. I certify that I am physically fit and able to participate in this event. I understand that the event will be held rain or shine and there are no refunds for non-participants.
